The journey begins with a flight from Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane to Anchorage, where the Alaskan leg of the adventure kicks off. The Alaska Railroad Wilderness Tour offers a scenic ride through some of the state's most stunning terrains. This is followed by a seven-night cruise through the Inside Passage aboard the Celebrity Summit or Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas. Guests will enjoy oceanview cabins, gourmet meals, and a plethora of non-chargeable entertainment options, making the cruise a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement.

The cruise concludes in Vancouver, where the Canadian Rockies segment of the tour begins. Explore Vancouver's seaside sights and forested parks at your own pace from the comfort of an open-air bus. With multiple stops around this city, you can ride to within walking distance of top Vancouver attractions like the Vancouver Lookout and Historic Gastown. Day 3

Vancouver Whistler Vancouver

Traverse from the scenic coastline of Howe Sound fjord to the lush forested peaks of the Coast Mountains. This escape from the city is an ideal way to experience the natural wonders surrounding Vancouver and Whistler.

Our first stop is the awe-inspiring Sea to Sky Gondola. After an exciting 10-minute ride to the top of Habrich Ridge, your views change dramatically, rising above the towering canopy of a coastal rainforest and upward above Howe Sound and the neighbouring mountains. Along the way, pass by the quaint town of Squamish. Considered an outdoor paradise, for climbers and backcountry adventurers. Squamish is perfectly positioned at the most north easterly point of the Howe Sound, offering astonishing views of the mountains and water. Continue the journey to Whistler with views of Tantalus Glacier greet passengers en route to Whistler.

This pedestrian village is located at the base of world-famous Whistler-Blackcomb Mountains. This world famous ski resort also hosted many 2010 Olympic outdoor sporting events. Spend an afternoon exploring eclectic city centre shops and cafes, hiking along nature trails, or relaxing and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

On the way back to Vancouver, Gaze out over ever-changing landscapes surrounding the Sea to Sky Highway, with a scenic stop at the 335 metre Shannon Falls. Travel aboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, the largest city in the interior. On this journey, you will witness remarkable changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser River Valley and forests nestled in winding river canyons, to the desert-like landscape of the interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in Fraser Canyon and the stunning slopes and snow sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer follows the scenic shores of Kamloops Lake, bringing you to your overnight destination, Kamloops.

Kamloops  Jasper – Rocky Mountaineer Rail

Continue your journey to the mighty Canadian Rockies and Alberta, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, approaching the majestic peaks of the Continental Divide. Highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Pyramid Falls, and the climb over Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Arrive in the town of Jasper in the evening, where you will spend the night.

Start your morning with a refreshing hike (optional) through the Maligne Canyon, a remarkable limestone gorge adorned with six narrow bridges and picturesque waterfalls. Continuing our journey south along the Icefield Parkway, often hailed as one of the most beautiful highways in the world, we will explore its must-see attractions, including Athabasca Falls, Peyto Lake, and Castle Mountain. At the Columbia Icefield, ride the “Ice Explorer” on Athabasca Glacier or visit the Glacier Skywalk.

Prepare yourself for another exhilarating day of sightseeing and activities in Banff National Park. As we make our way to Lake Louise, we will pause at Johnston Canyon for a leisurely hike (optional) along the trail that guides us to the breathtaking Lower Falls. While at Lake Louise, you’ll find numerous viewpoints offering splendid photo opportunities of the majestic Victoria Glacier towering over the lake. In the afternoon, our adventure continues as we explore other notable attractions in the Rockies, including Moraine Lake, Banff Springs Hotel, and Bow Falls Don’t forget to take advantage of the gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain** for a breathtaking panoramic view of Banff town and its surrounding or Upper Hot Springs for a soothing soak in the hot, mineral-rich water.

Today you will head west crossing the Continental Divide and Rogers Pass, the highest pass in the Rockies. Learn about the Spiral Tunnels, a railroad engineering marvel. Relax and enjoy the passing scenery of Glacier National Park on your way back to Vancouver.

Day 10

Anchorage, Alaska

Today you will take part in a Dog Sledding (with Helicopter Flight) and Trolley Tour.

Tour Duration: 5 Hours

Flight Time: 30 minutes with a glacier landing on snow. 2 Person Minimum

The classic Alaskan adventure and Alaska Helicopter Tours most popular tour! Partnered with Dallas Seavey's AK Sled Dog Tours (5-time Iditarod CHAMPION!) Drive your Champion Iditarod winning sled-dog team on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a spectacular helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. Moose, black bears, Dall sheep, and mountain goats are often seen. Land on a huge snowfield high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with Alaskan sled dogs and their mushers. Take the dog team for an exhilarating dogsled ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team if you want, or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After the tour, the helicopter takes you back to the Alaska Glacier Lodge and you'll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

Alaska Helicopter Tours has multiple 3 passenger Robinson 44s. These helicopters have a per seat limit of 300 lbs. and a total combined passenger weight limit of 600 lbs. If your passenger weight exceeds 600lbs or for parties of more than 3 guests, your party may be in 2 or 3 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour. (Added bonus is everyone will have a window seat and you can take pictures and video of the other helicopter from the air) If a guest exceeds the 300 lb. per seat limit, they may have additional helicopter options.

Alaska Helicopter Tours provides over boots so your shoes stay dry, and they have some extra jackets and warm gear you can borrow if needed.

Day 11

Anchorage  Denali National Park

Arrive Denali at 340PM

Check in 1 hour prior to departure. Reservations and seat assignments may be altered or reassigned if passenger and baggage are not checked in 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure. The Transportation Security Administration requires that any Alaska Railroad passenger 18 years of age or older present a government issued photo ID, or two other forms of ID, one of which must be issued by a government authority. Children ages 2-15 may only travel in the company of an adult 18 years or older.

Travelling in 'Adventure Class', the standard rail cars offer comfortable seating and large picture windows. Open-air vestibules between railcars provide an opportunity for fresh air and excellent photo ops. Adventure Class guests are encouraged to travel between railcars, whether to take advantage of the open seating in the Vista Dome cars or visit the Wilderness Café.

The Denali Star, the Alaska Railroad's flagship train, links Anchorage to Denali with stops in Wasilla, and Talkeetna. On this route, sparkling salmon streams and stands of birch and spruce come into view, while carpets of fireweed add dramatic purple to the landscape.

A breathtaking view and creature comforts too! Outdoor adventure and true Alaskan hospitality await you at the Denali Bluffs Hotel on the gentle lower slopes of Sugarloaf Mountain. Ideally located, guests are close to area attractions, and surrounded by wilderness splendor. The Denali Bluffs Hotel is popular with travelers looking for a special opportunity to experience exceptional views of the majestic Alaska Range and Nenana River canyon.  Nestled within a colorful tapestry of spruce and birch trees on the slopes of Sugarloaf Mountain, the hotel provides the ideal jumping off point for your special Alaskan adventure.

The inviting main lodge at the Denali Bluffs Hotel features a log beamed great room bathed in natural light with a stone fireplace and traditional Alaskan art. You will not want to miss the viewing deck adjacent to the Mountaineer Grill & Bar. The restaurant's scrumptious BBQ selections and popular home-style Alaskan fare are certain to please as will their local beer and hand-crafted cocktails.  The nearby Perky Moose Espresso offers a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and an assortment of pastries, snacks, and quick lunch menu items. Day 12

Denali National Park

The Tundra Wilderness Tour will guide you along a spectacular road corridor, promising different experiences every day, as Denali’s wildlife moves at its own pace and according to the seasons.

Morning tours depart between 5AM and 11AM. Please note: Exact departure times are not guaranteed and are based on availability - it is possible to be ticketed for any time during the departure window.

The tour is on a comfortable, modified school bus with coach seating. No bathroom on board. Tour stops approximately every 90 minutes for a restroom break.

Tour length is 5-5 ½ Hours.

A portion of the Denali Park Road from Mile 43 onwards will be closed for the 2024 season to perform important road safety upgrades. At this time, we cannot confirm the completion date of the project; however, the National Park Service has stated that this is a long-term solution at Pretty Rocks.

Variations of this tour have been in existence since 1923 with the first concessioner offering visitor bus trips as far as the road extended at the time. Today, the Tundra Wilderness Tour excursion into the park is with a certified driver-naturalist. This tour provides in-depth information about the history of the park, maintaining a keen eye out for wildlife and photography opportunities.

A bottle of water and a snack box are included with this tour. Please pre-book a boxed lunch for the trip, if you would like to have more food during the trip, as there are no concessions available in the wilderness of Denali National Park. Pre-booking your boxed lunches can be purchased at various locations. Please ask the front desk of your hotel for more information.

Suggested items to bring: Warm clothes, raingear, camera/film or memory card, binoculars, and personal medication, as necessary.

Smoking or consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted on the tour buses.

For guests staying at the Denali Bluffs Hotel the tour bus usually departs from this hotel. It is important to reconfirm this tour a day or two prior. This information is not scheduled until then and is not available for Alaska Travel Connections to provide to you at this time.

Day 13

Denali Seward

The motorcoach trip from Denali Park to Seward is an all-day adventure that covers 360 miles and features a great variety of beautiful Alaskan scenery and the chance to see caribou, moose, sheep, and bald eagles. The first leg of the trip travels 130 miles from Denali Park to Talkeetna on the Parks Highway.  Travel through Broad Pass and Denali State Park and view the peaks of the Alaska Range and the Talkeetna Mountains.  If the weather permits, you will enjoy some spectacular views of Mt. Denali in route to Talkeetna.  After a brief stop at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge your journey continues for the 112-mile trip to Anchorage.   You will pass through the growing community of Wasilla before turning onto the Glenn Highway. Traffic will increase as many Wasilla resident’s commute to Anchorage for work. The highway goes over the Knik River and Matanuska River, both glacially fed. You will know you are getting close to Anchorage when you pass the joint military bases of Elmendorf and Richardson.  The coach will stop for a lunch break on your own at the Dena'ina Civic Center in downtown Anchorage.  When your adventure to Seward continues you will travel through Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, onto the Seward Highway.  This highway has earned the title of National Scenic Byway and features the Turnagain Arm, the Chugach National Forest, glacial valleys, mountain passes and picturesque Kenai Lake. The trip from Anchorage to Seward generally takes just under three hours.

Your trip on the Park Connection motorcoach will depart from the Denali Bluffs Hotel at 7:15 AM. Please be available for boarding at least 15 minutes in advance. There will be a brief stop in Talkeetna from approximately 10:45 AM – 11:00 AM.

You will arrive at Anchorage at the Dena’ina Civic Center located in downtown Anchorage at approximately 130PM.  A 1 ½ hour lunch stop is scheduled (lunch is on your own). Please note the length of this stop may vary based on traffic and road delays. Please be ready to re-board the motorcoach at 245PM for a 3PM departure. 

You will arrive in Seward at approximately 545PM. Please note arrivals may vary based on traffic and road delays. Your drop off location is strictly limited to the Seward Small Boat Harbor.

Passengers onboard enjoy comfortable reclining seats equipped with seatbelts, footrests, armrests, and outlets. There is one lavatory located at the rear of the bus. Luggage is limited to two bags per person and a small carry-on item. Extra and oversized luggage is subject to a fee and will be taken on a space available basis. These items may include bicycles, fish boxes, mountain equipment in large duffel bags or fishing equipment. There is no charge for items like strollers, car seats, wheelchairs, scooters, or oxygen concentrators. Guests can store their smaller items in overhead bins. 

Driver gratuity is welcome depending on the length of your trip and the quality of service received.

Day 14

Seward (Anchorage)

This morning enjoy a Kenai FJords National Park cruise prior to boarding your Inside Passage cruise chip.

This 6-hour cruise explores Kenai Fjords National  Cruise and visits an actively calving tidewater glacier in beautiful Aialik Bay. Our experienced captains will narrate your cruise and point out wildlife such as whales, sea otters, sea lions, puffins, and more. Stop at the mighty Holgate or Aialik Glacier and float among the icebergs as you watch for calving, where giant chunks of ice break off and crash into the ocean. Onboard captain narration and complimentary deli lunch included.

You will have several hours prior to your cruise embarkation time to look around Seward.

Day 15

Hubbard Glacier (Cruising)

At 76 miles long and seven miles wide, North America’s largest tidewater glacier makes even the largest ships in the region feel small. Watch massive chunks of Hubbard Glacier’s translucent blue ice crash into the bay with a bang like a cannon shot, a sound the Tlingit people call 'White Thunder'.

Day 16

Juneau, Alaska

The ship will arrive at 1130AM.

Accessible only by air or sea, Alaska's capital city entices travelers with its beauty, tranquility and outdoor activities. The Mendenhall Glacier, the jewel of the Juneau Icefield, can be discovered on scenic drives, hikes, boat rides, rafting trips, kayaking excursions and helicopter tours. Thrill-seekers get their adrenaline fix while ziplining above alpine forests, and culture lovers learn about landmarks such as the governor's mansion and St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church during explorations of downtown. A prospector-led panning adventure to Last Chance Basin allows you to strike gold, just as folks did in the late 19th century. Juneau's waters are a hot spot for humpback whales, and daily cruises afford the opportunity to witness these majestic creatures-a truly unforgettable experience. Brush up on local history with a visit to the Alaska State Museum, and cap off the day's adventures with a sampling of freshly caught salmon and locally sourced beer.

Day 17

Skagway, Alaska

The ship will arrive at 7AM.

Though it's small in terms of population, Skagway is plenty big when it comes to adventure. Sail among waterfalls and wildlife on Lynn Canal, one of the longest, deepest fjords in North America, or take a helicopter tour over glaciers before trying your hand at dog sledding. A kayaking expedition down the Inside Passage will have you paddling past seals, sea lions, porpoises and possibly humpback whales. Hikers can trek the Chilkoot Trail, the primary route prospectors followed in Alaska's 19th-century gold rush, while photographers will marvel at the jaw-dropping photo ops from atop White Pass summit, which is accessible via railway or a picturesque drive on the Klondike Highway. Amid the scenery and stillness of Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, keep your eyes peeled for the rare and endangered birds during a river float.

Icy Strait Point, Alaska

Icy Strait Point is one tiny port that’s big on Alaskan wilderness and Native culture. Opened a decade ago by the Huna Tlingit Native Alaskans, it’s easily one of the best spots in the region for fishing and whale watching. Dive into Native Alaska culture at a tribal dance show or pay a visit to Hoonah, Alaska’s largest Tlingit village. If you want to venture over to the wild side, go on a guided nature hike through nearby rainforests or hop into an ATV and explore the backroads of Chichagof Island. At the end of the day, you can take in forest views while soaring high above the trees on the longest zip line in the world. No matter what kind of Alaska adventure you’re craving, you’ll find it in Icy Strait Point.

Day 19

Ketchikan, Alaska

The ship will arrive at 930AM.

With its boat-filled harbor and colorful waterfront, Ketchikan welcomes visitors to southeastern Alaska's Inside Passage. Fishing opportunities abound in the self-proclaimed salmon capital of the world, and bear viewing spots often find the creatures munching on their catch of the day. The Totem Heritage Center displays 33 19th-century totem poles, making it the largest collection in the U.S. Expeditions to the country's largest national forest, Tongass, explore its 16.7 million acres by Jeep, canoe or on foot, while floatplane tours provide a bird's-eye view of Misty Fjords National Monument. Other outings explore the town's past as a Native American settlement and gold rush hub or take to the water with kayaks or paddleboards for encounters with harbor seals and the occasional humpback or killer whale.

Vancouver

Today you will take part in the Victoria and Butchart Garden Tour.

Meeting Point Vancouver Cruise Pier 999 Canada Pl, Vancouver, BC V6C 3E1, Canada. 

Please meet us at the covered benches, in front of the Vancouver Convention Centre, next to the Flyover Canada Ticket Booth, 20 minutes before departure and meet your Discover Canada Tours guide (wearing bright green). Your guide will be guiding you to the correct bus.

Start time 8AM

Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is located on gorgeous Vancouver Island and is considered one of the world’s most beautiful cities. It is famous for the historic Empress Hotel, the Parliament buildings and beautiful Butchart Gardens. Upon leaving Vancouver, you will take a scenic ferry ride from the Vancouver mainland through the Gulf Islands to Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island. From here, you will have a driving tour to Victoria, and of Victoria’s city centre area featuring the Inner Harbour, The Fairmont Empress Hotel, Mile 0 and the historic Chinatown. There will be free time to explore city centre Victoria at your own pace. Then on to the internationally renowned Butchart Gardens. Today the garden showcases 55 acres of themed garden displays, including a Japanese Garden, Italian Garden and Rose Garden. Wind down your day with the scenic return sailing aboard BC Ferries and then back to where your tour began.

This morning you will check out from your hotel and at the appropriate time, make your way to the airport to check in for your return flight home.
