Description
Experience impressive monuments, historic cities, fascinating ruins and ancient cultures on this epic 5-Star Egypt Discovery tour with airfares!
A journey through Egypt is like stepping into the pages of history, where ancient wonders merge with the vibrant energy of modern life. This itinerary - covering Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan, a 5-star Nile River cruise, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Luxor, and the Valley of the Kings - offers a perfect blend of culture, adventure, and luxury. Whether you're drawn by Egypt's mystique or its stunning landscapes, this trip will give you an unforgettable glimpse into the heart of ancient civilisation.
Your journey begins in Cairo, Egypt's sprawling capital. With its bustling streets, Cairo is a sensory overload in the best way. The first stop on your list should be the Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx. These iconic structures have stood for over 4,500 years and continue to captivate visitors from around the world. Explore the Egyptian Museum, where you can marvel at treasures such as the artefacts of Tutankhamen, including the world-famous golden death mask. While Cairo's chaotic charm is part of its appeal, the city's juxtaposition of ancient relics with modern life is equally striking. Don't miss the chance to visit Islamic Cairo and the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, a labyrinth of alleyways filled with spices, textiles, and handcrafted souvenirs.
From Cairo, head north to Alexandria, Egypt’s Mediterranean jewel. Once home to the great Library of Alexandria, the city’s intellectual and cultural legacy is palpable. Stroll along the Corniche, the waterfront promenade that stretches along the Mediterranean Sea, or visit the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. Next, we fly from Cairo to Aswan, a peaceful city on the banks of the Nile. Known for its relaxed vibe and stunning views, Aswan offers a quieter contrast to Cairo's frenetic pace.
Your adventure continues with a 5-star Nile River cruise, offering an indulgent way to explore Egypt’s ancient sites while enjoying world-class amenities. Starting in Aswan, the cruise takes you on a scenic journey along the river, passing palm-lined villages and desert landscapes. With inclusions like gourmet dining, luxurious cabins, and guided tours to the historical sites, it's a great way to see the sites in style.
After we see Kom Ombo and Edfu, the final leg of your Nile journey takes you to Luxor, often referred to as the world’s greatest open-air museum. Luxor is home to the Karnak Temple Complex and Luxor Temple, both awe-inspiring in their grandeur and history. A walk down the Avenue of Sphinxes connects these two ancient sites, offering a glimpse of the city's past glory. However, no trip to Egypt is complete without visiting the Valley of the Kings. This necropolis on the west bank of the Nile is where Egypt’s most powerful pharaohs, including Tutankhamen, were laid to rest. Explore the elaborately decorated tombs and marvel at the intricate hieroglyphics that tell stories of the afterlife.
